Why would I want to read some pseudo-intellectual article justifing the slaughter of whales in the name of 'culture'? What you posted was bad enough.

Let's see, in the name of 'culture' the Makah have a canoe towed (apparently they are not in good enought shape to row it) out into a wildlife area, kill a baby whale using stainless steel harpoon and .50 calibre rifle, have the whale towed back to shore by yet another power boat, jump up and down on it, have other people slaughter it for them, then eat it. And this is supposedly an example of restoring culture? Blech!!

Let's try your way: people running around like crazy buffalo in cutback country, alienation, TV imaginary culture, malnutrition, disease, disintegration and alienation from the natural world, supermarket food, SUVs, mortgages that eat 60% of the family income, the Sheps' president Dubya, idiots mistaking facts for wisdom, publicity substituting for action....MOrons who post about something without the faintest appreciation of the two years' or more brilliant work that went into it, whores like Rich who take money to harass alt.native, rich's hatemonger icon Saint Spomer

Oh, you mean like you posting crap about Sea Shepherds? Yeah, that's about right for you, Jason.

>whores like Rich who take money to harass

HAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH! Jason, you can play lawyer, snitch and any other evil character but you will never ever find that I have taken any money from anyone for anything I have posted on alt.native, alt.animals.whales, or anywhere else. I do it for love of the whales, not money. I run no nonprofit (or for-profit) organizations of any kind and receive no funding from anyone.

You are so paranoid it is pathetic.

Since you apparently couldn't even make it into a JC, no Jason, I think you have said enough. You are green enough with envy at your educated superiors that we could play golf on your hide.

Indeed Jason, that would be you. You who would dis decades of brilliant philosophic ideation by folks like Peter Singer, Tm Regan and other ethical animal rights philosophers. Yet you would wish me to take seriously another anthropocentric speciesist apologetic, such as you posted, for killing and causing pain to sentient beings that feel pain in the name of 'culture'.

Gimme a break, dude.

But you sure have some scruffed up knees from falling down so often. Not to mention the scars on your face from picking sand and gravel off of it after landing flat on your face and skidding to a halt.

Gads that must hurt, no wonder you sound bitter.

MIB, Do you know what else his vegan tribe does? It murders animals. The studies show that 2 to 3 animals per acre are killed by tillers, and the like in farm operations. That is not counting the pesticieds and the habitat loss. So richie the vegan is an animal urderer. And let's not even get into the plastics he wears. Last I checked, plastic is made from petroleum products and does not degrade in the landfills. So here we have the typical, hypocritical ARA. A murderer.

And what I find funny as hell is they are *still* outnumbered .... maybe they'll want to pick on my tribe for a while, there are only few hundred so the odds will be a bit more even .... and with a 250 luxery hotel right on the Rez they won't even have to 'slum it' compared to home ....

How do you know? Just because they don't have the same nervous system as we do doesn't mean they don't have some alternate way of feeling pain. Plants know where the sun is. They also know when they're being eaten. They can even warn other plants of insect attacks.

How do you know they can't feel pain? You *assume* that whales are as intelligent as human beings. Why not also assume that plants can feel pain? Because that means you'd have to change you lifestyle?

Bah - I'm talking to a killfile.
