Imagine a situation in which most of the media, despite the overwheling weight of facts, broadcast comercials, paid for by teachers' unions, that there is an 'explosion of excellence' in our government schools.

Any out of control population is a plague and pestilence on other populations. This bonehead idea of prolonging lives regardless of suffering and infirmity needs to go to the dustbin of history. The purpose of infectious disease is to bring lives to a merciful end, and make room for rising youngsters. But you can't possibly see this unless you take everything into account.
