By Geoffrey Lean and Francis Elliott, in The Independent, for 21 November 2004.

President Bush has reprimanded Tony Blair for sounding the alarm over global warming and pressing for international action to combat it, senior Washington sources say.

They report that the White House has objected to the Prime Minister placing the issue at the top of the agenda when he heads the G8 group of the world's most powerful nations next year, and to the strong tone of his recent speeches warning of climate change.

Mr Blair is widely seen as the leader best placed to bring the President into serious international negotiation on how to tackle the problem, which he has described as 'very, very critical indeed'.

This follows a U-turn by Greenpeace, which last week withdrew its longstanding support for the Prime Minister's climate policies saying that he 'can no longer be given the benefit of the doubt' and 'cannot be trusted to resist industry lobbying.'

The Government, however, says it is both successfully mobilising international support for Mr Blair's initiatives and making progress on reaching consensus with the United States on 'a way forward'.

Mr Blair has repeatedly described global warming as 'the single biggest long-term issue' facing the world. In a major speech this autumn he added that it was ' a challenge so far-reaching in its impact and irreversible in its destructive power, that it alters radically human existence.'

His own economy and that of his rich friends, not the U.S. economy which is taking an enormous hit in order to stuff his pockets.

Here are the three little 'intellectual' pigs: Roger, Robert, and Ian! They all want something from the USA they are too lazy to achieve for themselves. If these whiny foreigners keep aggravating the USA they may not like what happens!

They need to find out exactly why Bush is rejecting the Kyoto Treaty!. If they did they would be as concerned as he is about the impact on all of us. His concern is not to protect the fantasmatic economic ogre you image the USA to be.

We certainly wonder what kind of political indoctrination, instead of scientific education, you foreigners get in your institutions of 'higher' learning. We already know you learn all the juvenile four letter words and even a couple of those big five letter ones as well! But what else have you ever learned beyond believing newspaper articles constitute legitimate scientific evidence?

So far none of you have yet let the objective facts of a situation obscure your half baked unsubstantiated personal opinions regarding global warming , the motives of the USA, or any thing else you imagine may menace your tiny little minds!

'When all else fails just GET THE FACTS!'

Watcha gona doo ?

Blow up London ?

Stop exporting pentiums ?

Stop exporting californian wine ?

Quite concerned about its impact here too.

Questions are though:

'Is it worth it ?'

or

' What choice do we have but to start reducing emissions ?'

or

'Do you have a better idea ?'.

Oh really ? That's good to know !

So now you've excreted the vitriol and bile, do you have anything useful to contribute ?

If the US kept out of global wars and used other methods of dealing with terrorism instead of antagonising other countries then he would not be responsible for so much pollution in the air over Iraq from both sides. Surely those millions of pounds spend on bombs would be better spent putting out all the underground coal fires which are a major source of global pollution in China and other countries.

I don't know of any computer chips that *are* made in the U.S. And silicon dioxide is ubiquitous. The U.S. hardly has a lock on supply. Mostly the chips are made in Taiwan, China, Korea, and Japan for U.S. companies.

Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?

Answer: Princess Diana's death.

Question: How come?

Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel driving a German car with a Dutch engine driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi on Japanese motorcycles treated by an American doctor using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to you by a Canadian using an American, Bill Gate's technology and you're probably reading this on your computer that uses Taiwanese chips and a Korean monitor assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant transported by Indian lorry-drivers hijacked by Indonesians unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen and trucked to you by Mexican illegals.....

That, my friends, is Globalization.

Tell us oh wise one. How much dough has he stuffed his pockets with? I suppose you'll tell us how it will come later after he leaves office though won't you? Your ignorance is only excelled by your stupidity.
