Communists kill (& socialists). Capitalism heals. The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics 62 million humans were killed; the Peoples' Republic of China, 35 million; and the National Socialist German Workers' Party, 21 million. (see http://members.ij.net/rex/socialists.html ). Socialism destroyed cows, chickens, sheep, and grain-fields by the millions, and then it killed humans, who were treated like animals too. Turtles are cold-blooded, but not as cold-blooded as socialists. We the sheeple must fight our socialist farm.
Did anybody ask the turtles about their liberty?
<Radical anarchy and American-hating garbage snipped>
How about anarchy?
oh, and thanks for not actually disputing anything I said.
Exactly. No. The 'dogma' that capitalism is good and socialism is evil is just that. Unsupportable dogma. The fact is that massacres, wars, famines, and civil unrest have happened throughout history and the idea that you can separate them out to form 'good/bad' results based purely on economic systems is clueless. Much of the worst cases involved politics and competing ideologies, not economics.
The fact is that simple socialism ( storage of grain for times of famine ) is one of the major advances that saved major populations before the invention of fertiliser, and similar socialist exercises ( like welfare, and safety standards for factories ) had kept the death rate from the capitalists down. However, we also need the capitalism as a bulkward against totalitarian control by the state.
Abuse by business(capitalism) or abuse by the state(socialism)? Why do we need to chose one or the other? We need a balance of BOTH to keep them occupied fighting each other. That is why Fascism ( the merger of state and corporate power ) is the primary danger to world stability.
They have happened throughout history because people insist on taking other people's stuff.
And exactly which massacres, war, famine or civil unrest do you think was unrelated to economics?
Sigh... so the storage of grain for times of famine is socialism? Great so the Pharoahs were socialist were they? Archer Daniels Midland is a not-for-profit collective?
Saying this doesn't make it true. Safety standards for factories probably just made them more expensive to operate, resulting in more people working on farms or at home, which was often less healthy and more arduous.
When we can have both with a mixed economy!
Then why advocate the control over business that makes it possible?
You might as well say, 'assuming atoms exist.' That CFCs destroy the ozone layer is conclusive, proven, fact.
