Cold weather hurting some summer industries

Many pools have remained closed due to chilly temperatures

Michiana's unseasonable weather is doing more than just dampening spirits. It's wreaking havoc on those who depend on warmer days for their income.

At the public pool in Plymouth, the pool was closed today. It's the fourth time the pool had to close due to cold weather since it opened Memorial Day weekend.

While pool staff is unsure yet what economic impact the weather may have, lifeguards and other staff depend on sunny days for their wages.

Pool director Shiloh Fonseca is hopeful. ' Every day I am watching the weather in the evening thinking, 'Oh please let us have a nice day so we can open up'. I'm sure it will turn around very soon. Like I said, next week will probably be in the 90's.

Shiloh says the park department also runs a day camp who is supposed to use the pool daily. Today, they stayed inside to watch a movie.

Poor Kevin doesn't understand the difference between weather and climate.
