As the Invasion of Iraq Begins, Greens Call Bush Indictable for War Crimes.

THE GREEN PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES Contacts:

'[O]ur position is that no grievances or policies will justify resort to aggressive war. It is utterly renounced and condemned as an instrument of policy.'

Go right ahead and try to indict Bush, it'll be fun to watch!

This kind of nastiness from the pinkos at the Green party has a down side. It's sure to repel some of their members, like the ones with family members in the military. Those who leave will vote Dem. If a mere 550 Greens had done so in Florida in 2000, Gore would be President, Yuck! So tone down the rhetoric a bit, eh Greens? It's important to us that you continue to take 1 - 2% of the Dem vote. Hee hee

Remember 9/11?

Everyone remembers 9/11. Most of us also remember that it didn't have anything to do with Iraq.

Yep. And the next one won't either, thanks to our President.

This is nonsensical in many ways.

<snip> >

This is a representative democracy. GP is claiming it's valid to run recall campaigns against Congress members you disagree with! Our representatives should not have this burden, it's way outside the intent of the Constitution.

War Powers have been a difficult issue between Congress and Executive for decades, and taking it to the supreme court could be a Constitutional disaster.

Seeing as a number of Congress Members were against the war, and are well versed in law and Constitution, this doesn't make any sense.

Congress normally defers to the executive when asked to authorize war.

How on earth could a urgent, rapid response be made to a threat if a minority of senators could block the deployment of troops? This is the main reason the WP act has been put on the back burner

If so, those same Greens are as stupid as can be.

Let's invade and take over Estonia so the next one won't have anything to do with Estonia either. And you can thank Bush again.

Well, nobody is breaking our laws, we don't have an insurrection, and we aren't being invaded. Besides, this means Bush would have to use the National Guard, not the Army.

And which state has Saddam threatened to remove the republican form of government? Which state is in danger due to domestic violence?

But he can't use them any way he wants, no more than the commanding general of a tank division could.

Nowhere does it say the president can engage in military action against another nation without a declaration of war.

So 2 wrongs make a right?

So Iraq is concealing ICBMs? Long-range bombers? Missile subs?

No, protestors and dissenters have been called traitors, unpatriotic, and unAmerican.

Ashcroft said dissenters are unAmerican.

And Iraq had no more to do with that than Ireland or Monaco.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Apparently the Green Party is not familar with the use of War Crimes.

They are the domain of the victor over the loser in a War.

So I imagine if the greens can put together an environmentally friendly army and take over the US, they would be in a positon to indict Bush for War crimes, whether he committed them or not.

Otherwise they are pretty much out of luck.
