I feel as sorry for the Idsos as I would Dr. Joseph Mengela. The foolishness of man who bet red affects only himself and the owners of the Casnio. Anyone who would take cash to tell lies that risk our planet, separates himself from humanity. When I later read that the bagman is broke, I can only confirm that Karma completed itself.

People who separate themselves from humanity are those with an agenda trying to scare hell out of people with made up predictions based on the concept of science that people got used to trusting. You should be proud of your part in destroying that trust but I won't compare you to Dr Mengela.

'Everywhere, except inside the minds of a few red state inbred morons, the cherry-picked climate science the Idso's website tried to sell has lost all its value.'

All predictions are made up, James. This includes the prediction that the planet will not get any warmer and climates will therefore remain unchanged.

The purpose of science in all of this is should be to extrapolate results from experiments where the outcome has been carefully obtained and recorded. Regrettably, few experiments are possible that can give a result even remotely applicable, and scientists are forced to examine historical planetary data to get a handle on what might be going on.

The experiment is underway right now. It's mankind's change(s) to the atmosphere.

The problem is that we don't have a 'control' experiment running in parallel, with the usual kinds of quality control. All we have are modeling experiments with AOGCM's to project different outcomes, depending upon estimates of future changes. Looking back to historical and paleo data does not exactly match what is happening now, so, while instructive, these data do not show us a picture of the future. Unfortunately, there seems little reason to hope that mankind will listen to the warnings which are derived from the AOGCM experiments, given the usual combination of greed and ignorance.

TBH, I don't think anyone has a sound rigorous basis for a firm probabilistic statement like that. But perhaps the full article clarifies exactly what they mean by it (ie, to what extent it is their personal belief).
