Dissertation Question: PLEASE HELP :)

Hey everyone!

I’m a 3rd year photography student and I am currently writing my dissertation. The subject is ‘How has Landscape Photography changed due to our industrial interaction with the natural world’. Part of the dissertation includes photographer, Edward Burtynsky, who photographs Industrial Landscapes. He travels to places like China where they have some of the biggest factories and assembly lines in the world. These industrial buildings are obviously terrible on the environment, however Burtynsky beautifies these ugly landscapes through his imagery. I want to ask you whether you think it is right or wrong to photograph these subjects and capture them in a way to look aesthetically pleasing. His images might bring awareness to what these industrial landscapes are doing to Earth’s environment; but is it still morally right to beautify the ‘destruction’ of Earth?

Thanks everyone for helping out!!!
