<Snipped poll>

Pheew..... Good to see that some of the anti-whaling elements of this newsgroup does not represent the average intelligent person.

I guess the reason for the poll was the interview with out prime minister earlier today on BBC. I only saw a few clips, but I guess I am satisfied with his way to defend whaling. His English sounds like shit, but who cares.....

No, I just saw a few clips from it on the news this evening. But it was the 'Hard talk' program, yes.

Be sure to note the diclaimer for the 'poll': 'Results are indicative and may not reflect public opinion'. In other words, interesting but ultimately of no real value.

It's what I saw anyway - although I got it in bits and pieces, since I somehow didn't manage to turn on BBC World at the beginning of the program before I'd already seen everything that came before it.

I thought he defended whaling much much better than that Japanese guy they interviewed on the same topic last year. That was almost painful to watch. Neither of them seemed to have done their homework (interviewer and subject). I'd like to see Greenpeace or Sea Shepherd be grilled on Hardtalk - by somebody who knew what they were talking about.

There was a Canadian guy representing the Japanese here in New Zealand on TV a while back - he was bloody good eh. Made an absolute clown on Sandra Lee, but then I think even I could probably do a pretty good job of that

Yeah, that's the guy.

Well, I suppose he was a terrier when talking to the Japanese guy - even though all he did was spout GP drivel. But he went pretty soft on the whaling issue when talking to Bondevik. Couldn't help but wonder why.

I know, I meant it was Sebastian who interviewed the Japanese guy (doesn't seem very respectful to refer to him as 'the Japanese guy', but I don't know his name).
