The public, intellectually dormant as usual, may one day awake and understand the relationship between energy consumption and population. If America stops taking in over one million immigrants a year it would be a positive step. But we hacks like President Bush who ignores our border problem. America is saddled with absolute trash in the higher offices and the Congress.

The sophomoric generalization you attempted to convey was apparent enough. It's the semi-literate way you attempted to convey it which gave pause.
When did they teach spelling? Were you absent a lot in those days?
Better put down your glass, Vendicar. You're embarassing yourself.

They've subverted at least two. First was New Jersey with the installation of Lautenberg, second was the attempt (aided by nitwit activist judges) to get the California election postponed

Population growth has slowed sharply, most interestingly in much of the Third World. There is no global population explosion (there never was); there now are only a few especially backward parts of the world where people have yet to behave responsibly and sanely.
(That not only includes sub-Saharan Africa but also a few parts of the Middle East, where resources such as water are going to become very scarce in the future and may be the object of warfare.)
High energy use is a feature of advanced society. Nobody sane expects us or wants us to go back to pre-industrial times.

I see. Petitioning the California Supreme Court to postpone an election is 'subversion' but petitioning the US SupremeCourt to block a recount is just doing the Lord's Work, right?
If it weren't for Double Standards Conservatives would have no standards at all.

Modern Conservative: Someone who can take time out from asking the feds to halt state recounts, blocking state officials from suing gun makers, dictating state marriage laws and overturning local ballot initiatives to lecture us about the sanctity of 'states' rights'.......

One wonders if Creasote was too stupid to comprehend the sentence, or too afraid to respond to it's content.

It was the Democrats who misused the courts and the recount process.
More nonsense from the losers of the world. Sad.

Actually there are a few that are more zany than the Greenies. They are the 'anarchists' who want to go back to pre-industrial, pre-capitalistic life

Wrong. Gore was content to use Florida's laws and courts to get recount of Florida votes in Florida.
It was Bush who went boo-hooing to the federal courts, whining about how 'unfair' it all was. Like the spoiled child that he is.
And as for the rank hypocrisy of this champion of 'State's Rights' to suddenly use the feds to overturn state procedures, well, you are familiar with that already, I trust.
What a crybaby.

Only 4 Democrat majority counties. Gore was not interested in a full recount of ballots.
'Nobody asked for a contest of the overvotes,' Gore lawyer David Boies told the U.S. Supreme Court in the last hearing.'
'The media analysis shows that among those 3,690 overvotes that could be considered legitimate votes, 6 out of 10 were cast for Gore.
'Instead of pursuing overvotes, the Gore team sought manual recounts of undervotes in four counties: Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Volusia counties.'
