Yet more evidence that New Zealand should quit the IWC - New Zealanders don't want whaling - so why is our signature on a document (the ICRW) that legitimises it?
Until NZ's signature is removed from the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling, which expressly permits whaling, and supports the notion of commercial whaling, how can NZ claim to be taking an honourable stance against whaling?
Until nations like NZ do take an honourable stance against whaling by bringing their actions into line with the political rhetoric, the whalers are not going to listen to NZ, and whaling will continue unabated. Why should the whaling nations think NZ is against whaling while at the same time we have our signature on a convention which expressly permits and encourages it?
The blood of the whales is all over the hands of the NZ government. The NZ government is party to this convention which legitimises whale slaughter.
End the indecision. Show some honour and principles. Act in line with the wishes of the people.

Davey, this is just your bogus argument to get anti-whaling nations out of the IWC so that the pro-whalers will have a headlock on it. Not very creative....

That's like saying that one should not talk about something occuring unless one specifically condones that action. Silly boy.

Well, Debs, they don't SOUND like traditional Kiwi recipes for whale.
That would be something along the lines of whale hangi, or whale with puha (sort of watercress), or whale with a huhu grub sauce. Personally, I can't speak for the whale, but the huhu grubs are pretty good (taste sort of like peanut butter).
Y'know, being culturally respectful and that.

This is idiotic...
Anyone who reads the website will see quite clearly that the recipes are not listed as being 'New Zealand' recipes. The recipes are listed in the format of <contributer, nationality> ie, Sean Kerins, New Zealand
Why on earth should he be asked to hide his identity?
Well diddy widdums Jeanette.
Instead of whinging like a baby, it's about time politicians like her actually put some actions behind their words and OPPOSED THE BODY WHICH LEGITIMISES WHALE SLAUGHTER. Why doesn't Jeanette explain exactly why New Zealand has our signature on a document which expressly permits and encourages whaling activity?
It doesn't say that they are NZ recipes, what a silly tart. Anyone who actually reads the recipes can see that.
My goodness! Since when has a New Zealand politician decided that it was okay to allow whaling???
This is misleading reporting. It was not illegal to harpoon whales until after the last one was harpooned. The industry died of natural causes (NZ whalers hunted themselves out of business), well before whaling was outlawed - that was just another political vote grab.
The IWC scientific committee says that as well. So what? We can kill humans too right, but do we?
'NO WHALING', right New Zealand?
That's because Miss Clark is just a Greenpeace mouthpiece. She has no policy on whaling, because it doesn't matter to her so long as she has the votes. This is why she hasn't formulated her own policy, and simply parrots whatever Greenpeace says.
When will her government show some GUTS and face this issue?

Replying in agreement to your own posts?
Weird, certainly - I don't know if I'd go as far as 'idiotic' - but if you're comfortable with it, no worries.

No it's not - I doubt you ever bothered to read the ICRW before making such a statement.
The NZ government and other likeminded governments are more than welcome to talk about whaling. The fact is however, the NZ government has it's signature on a document (the ICRW, which you don't seem to have read) which expressly permits and encourages whaling activities - both commercial and otherwise - yet such notions of this are against the government's stated position of 'NO WHALING!'. New Zealand's representatives at the IWC have repeatedly stated that New Zealand's stance is that there should be no whaling of any sort whatsoever.
If this truely is New Zealand's position, then why on earth have we got our signature on a convention which clearly contradicts this position by not only encouraging whaling, but also legitimising research whaling of the type which Japan carries out (see Article 8 of the ICRW)?
Is is consistent and honourable for NZ to have our signature on such a convention which we are so clearly opposed to?
I'm not going to throw silly names at you.

I don't think so either. The only person who ever said they were being made out to be NZ recipes was that nutty dishonourable Green, and she was clearly wrong. She probably just got all emotional and burst out in a mad rage.

No, I was adding some comments to address the article which I posted.
If you consider what she has gotten all upset about, I think you'd probably agree she is a bit off her nut.

Probably because for decades the IWC has prohibited whaling. It can do so again.
BWAHAHAHAHA! If he keep arguing with you you will!!!!

I think he's afraid that no one else will and that it will peter out.
