What you need to understand is that this was an official visit by the Queen. As such her 'views' would have been formulated by the Foreign Office at the behest, ultimately, of Tony Blair - who is not renowned for his scientific knowledge.

I seriously doubt that the Queen really believes in this politically correct nonsense.

The only thing anyone needs to know about Kyoto is that even if everyone signs up to it, and reduces emissions to the levels they say they will, the world's predicted temperature will be the same in 2100 as it would have been in 2094 without Kyoto. All at an estimated global cost of somewhere between USD 150-300 billion a year.

So for the sake of delaying global warming for 6 years in 100 years time, we paralyse GDP growth and hence the whole world's economies.

I would have thought that increased CO2 and a warmer climate were just what agriculture needs. OK, there will need to be adaptations, but we should be able to work them out in advance and be ready for them. I'm thinking of buying some land in South Greenland, whilst it's still very cheap.

Go on then...

Good. I'm all ears !

Money where mouth is then !

Let's hope you can farm it without oil.

And if the amount of desert increases markedly elsewhere, let's also hope that you are happy to embrace all those environmental migrants. And can feed them on your farm.
