Report: Fast Arctic Thaw Portends Global Warming

Well then Russia should be THRILLED. A little GW would help moderate things that icebox they call a nation - expanding growing seasons, cutting winter energy needs and opening-up formerly hostile areas of siberia for expansion and exploitation. And hey ... if the arctic ice sheet receeds enough, they could export stuff directly from their northern ports and have a straight shot to Canada and Alaska. GW, you see, may be a 'catastrophe' for some, but a great boon to others.

Also in GW news ... the cause of last years collapse of a large antarctic ice sheet has now been identified as a previously unknown undersea VOLCANO that warmed the waters beneath the ice. Vulcanologists are thrilled because the volcano 'isn't where you'd expect a volcano to be'.
