I found your report apealing as I am a Chief Chemical Engineer and know of the dangers my company causes to trees but we perform every task to prevent this. so i am very concerned that you are on the verge of dropping out as there are millions of qualified people out in every country planting trees. But if we are polluting the ground, planting more trees therefore is pointless as they will probaly die from the contaminated soil in the future. I hope u stay in Uni and complete your degree which you would earn you £40 000 but as a Chemical Engineer for 25 years i know where you are coming from and respect whatever your decision.

On the contrary, Liberti, chemical engineering is all about saving. A business that wastes anything is on the fast track towards bankruptcy. Corporations can no longer afford to simply dump their waste down the nearest stream. Chemical engineering is all about finding new ways to produce products that produce less waste, use less energy, and meet ever tightening federal pollution guidelines.

In other words, English and Liberal Arts majors whine and cry about how the environment should be saved. You're the one actually doing it. Keep up the good work.

If you would rather work in someplace directly involved, look into an internship with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado. They are always looking for chemical engineers to help work on bioethanol production.
