Several good reasons why Ethanol will not catch on:

- It's expensive, and the general public, which is the main source of pollution will not pay more to stop global warming.

- Even if the general public will move to ethanol, the demand will be so huge, that there will not be enough supply.

- To meet the demand, Brazil would need to wipe up their entire rain forest to ensure enough place for growing.

- There are better technologies out there (Hidrogen, Electricity,)

If you have some more input, I've be happy to hear it.

I can see a few reasons ethanol will not take off unless forced upon the public & that will create numerous problems. Many vehicles will not operate with the product, unless they have money to update vehicles or continually replace motors.

Our state has intentions of using wheat instead of sugar, the wheat was usually sold to countries for consumption.Waste is another problem that rares it's head.Presentations from the company made it sound perfect, when asked for the down side they weren't forth coming.

Where they intend to situate the site it will create extra trucking around the clock causing noise pollution and more greenhouse gases from the overall plant.Ethanol was a sweetheart deal with Howards buddy. We need rain forests more that ethanol plants.
